I don't think the truss rod replacement cost is that bad if it is done at the factory and carries a manufacturers warranty (fingerboard removal and if there is a problem then that is tough as they have 'quoted' you a price whereas some local repairer might then bump the cost). [/quote] I was curious about that too. If it's about getting off the Oil Finish for a change of finish, then it's a time consuming job, but it doesn't entail what I'd call "grinding".
