how to I.D. strings (Atlas and I....owner on here?)

I bought a squier classic vibe 60's jazz off a guy recently north of norwich....it came with a set of strings that i adore....the problem is he didnt fit them as they came fitted on the bass when he bought it....off the bass player for a suffolk/norfolk group called 'Atlas and I'...google didnt turn anything up....?

Any tips on how to I.D. strings.....i have a feeling they maybe ground rounds....no colours.....dark looking metal...dull nickle....i'm at a loss?
