mamayo
Just about to announce my August guest for my new events nights in London. Paul Jackson is our 1st and we've now booked Hadrien Feraud our 2nd night. He'll be playing in a trio setting with Michael Lecoq on keys and Yoann Schmidt on drums. A mixture of soulful Jazz and with additional vocals from guests. My Events page on Facebook will be updated soon with more details, but you've heard it here 1st. mamayo
Hey never seen anything live of him so young. Thnx. Good to see how he's changed over the years and that the awesomeness has always been there really. His tastes have changed and his new album will showcase that in an interesting way I believe. [/quote] Agreed the reason I like the section I outlined is mainly for the time of it, I know people get put off by the number of notes and I even don't aspire to play that way myself, but there is massive drama, musical interest and searing ability in that passage, he just nails the time of it. In my normal daily appreciation of bass playing I'm much more of a simple and tasteful type of person, but that passage is just dynamite on so many levels. mamayo
Here's the link to his one-off London date in August: http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/event/hadrien-feraud--insolence-tickets/72255 He'll have a featured vocalist - Joy Rose formerly of Incognito and backing vocalist to Sting amongst others. This is a different kind of set from Hadrien than people are used to from him. I'm excited to hear what he's up to with the new material including previews of some new his album tracks I believe. urb
Bit of a bump for this - it's on TONIGHT! Get down there London types (and those from further afield) Hadrien is a great all round bassist and hearing him a in a trio is a real treat - the man probably won't be in the UK again for some time so really don't miss this if you can help it.
