Custom humbucking magnetic double bass pickup £65.
Very clean and powerful sound, Can be mounted on the end of the fingerboard using glue or velcro.
Alternatively the 4 individual elements can be mounted in holes drilled the fingerboard.

I wish I had the know how. It came I think from a guitar pickup maker, I know not who. It reminds me of a bass pickup that EMG used to make.

I believe that's an SBS pickup made by Jan Slapak. Really nice pickup in my opinion and each element is hum-canceling.
