AndyTravis Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) An old mate sent me a message "You after a Geddy Lee Jazz?" er...Nope, well, yeah... He had bought himself one years ago as a studio bass (he's a drummer) and needed some new drum gear and the Geddy was surplus to requirements. So Only 3 weeks after getting a gorgeous Stingray Classic, I've ended up with a tasty Geddy Lee too! I've played 100's of these Geddy Lee basses, and always thought i'd get one, just not so unexpectedly. Anyhow, i'm glad it's this one. It's a really great example and on the main is in pristine condition. It's now been restrung with Fender 45-100's as my mate had made a real pigs ear of some Rotosounds he'd put on it - And i've tweaked it to my preference. Very Happy. Bassmonkey Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Very nice mate. I have one too. It is such a lovely neck. I'm sure you will be a happy bunny Quote
AndyTravis Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) Bit of a debate going on... Black Pickguard, or keep the white...or Torty, or white pearl?! Edited July 1, 2013 by AndyTravis Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) I've got a couple of spare GL scratchplates, mirror and white pearl... Great basses, I only sold mine as my hand couldn't cope with the skinny neck. Edited July 1, 2013 by Cosmo Valdemar Quote
Wylie Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I love mine ... with 'custom made' black pickguard. ('Custom' costs a lot, don't it?) Quote

[/quote] Not if you get it made by the Bass Doc (who has all the exact measurements)! I much prefered mine with a BWB plate - made the guitar look so much more classy Quote
skej21 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I've got a BWB on mine and its way cooler than white... Put some Fodera strings on it too. It's like a whole new monster now! Quote
Samashton12 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Incredibly jealous mate, the greatest bass player I've seen played one of these.. a local guy who played round Liverpool.. Treat her well! Quote
Clarky72 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I love mine, although I did mod it a bit. New pickups and pickguard, it sounds awesome now, love the neck. Quote
gsgbass Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Congrats on your GL Jazz. Put Nylons on it, and you'll never use anything else. Quote
