Thunderbird
Hi mates I am thinking of getting something like a Peavey Milestone for a little project I want something in a jazz type formation , now I am thinking the Peavey is right for the job as you can pick up a decent one for around 50 quid I also have seen a few Yamahas and Ibanez basses with a jazz type formation. I am thinking of upgrading the pickups and maybe a little respray new strings nothing to major so you guys got any suggestions on what I should be looking for? I have set myself a budget of 50 quid for the bass but parts etc I need will be bought as and when I have funds. Just wanted to add I am not looking for any "no name basses" Thanks in advance Edited July 2, 2013 by Thunderbird

Wilson_51_
Peavey Milestones are not too bad for a cheap bass. I still have the one that originally got me into playing bass. it has a relatively thin neck which i like and is quite easy to mod. The pick up routes are standard size so you can pop most things in there, as is the bridge so can easily be changed and the neck pocket can fit a fender neck on. The only thing that I found to be a problem was that the tuners don't have the same base plate as any of the hipshot ones, so you would have to drill new holes if you want to change them! The one i have has been through a few changes in its life starting as standard blue one with white pickguard. it then had Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounders added and was resprayed camouflage colour with tread-plate pickguard. also added strap locks and block inlay stickers! This was for when i was in a heavy metal band. sorry for the poor picture it's the only one i could find! It is now Olympic white with Black tread-plate pickguard and has been defretted!! Thunderbird
Peavey project is kinda on hold for a while due to a new purchase so I am just researching parts etc and colour schemes but I have got it in my head that what ever I do its got to be a metallic orange colour with possibly a white guard or maybe a black guard and black hardware so let the research commence lol
