In the world of guitars and amps, their are some legendary combination's;

e.g

Marshall JTM45 - Gibson Les Paul
Fender Twin - Fender Strat

Does the same exist in the bass world?

Pretty much, though don't forget the Trace Elliott & Jaydee or Status combo for those who loved the 80s so much they decided to stay there. :)

There is Classic because its good and Classic because its what people see on TV so that is what they want, Ashdown with any Fender being the main ones I am thinking? I fell for the good enough for so and so must be good then heard all the brands I had never seen or heard of before :)

Oh er, what was it that those two blokes used? You know that one with the funny hat, Jacob Pizzaria or something and that one from Lead Balloon, Jean Paul Sartre.... Oh Yeah, a Fender Jazz through a stonking great amp with pretty blue bits on it!

Allow me to be the first of many that says Ampeg SVT & Fender Precision.

Yup.

SWR and Jazz Bass. :gas: - those 'Acoustic' amps and Jazzes are pretty darn tootin' too!
