White Cloud Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Hmmm, so I have been window shopping today...just looking you understand...for a Yamaha BB425X, purely for the purpose of research of course - seems GAK have a lovely white/black scratchplate model for £485 and (my favourite) antique sunburst for £380!?!?!? Apart from the colour they are identical. Am I missing something... why the huge difference in price? Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Bassgear have a 2025X going for £1299 - if I liked sunburst I'd be all over it! I have to own up that I approached it with a very negative head on but then started playing it and really liked the tone and feel. I can imagine it being a great rock bass The sunburst is an ex-demo one and has a few marks on the back (hence the price reduction for what is effectively a new bass with warranty & stuff) and there's a really nice, pre-owned, white 4 string too - the 4 has been calling my name this week. . . Horizontalste Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 The real bargains are in the used market. I bought my Bb1024 in mint condition with a hardcase for less than the sunburst one in the op. Quote
RandomBass Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Oh. That pre owned 2024x is a beautiful bargain. Quote
bigsmokebass Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Maybe they're shifting older models? I don't know all the difference between older me newer models but BB's seem to be top dog in quite a few people's mind Wouldn't mind be myself, tbh. BSB Quote
