waynepunkdude Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 The Beer Cart Arms in Canterbury has closed, not only was it my local but also the best live music venue in the city. This was probably the most fun I ever had playing Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Sorry to hear it. Not gonna be a Tesco metro is it ? Quote

Mykesbass Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) Is it a PubCo pub (Enterprise Inns, Punch Taverns etc) they're dropping like flies around here. Edited July 3, 2013 by Mykesbass Quote
Prime_BASS Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013
Is it a PubCo pub (Enterprise Inns, Punch Taverns etc) they're dropping like flies around here.
They're doing great round here, but not likely since they generally don't hold live music in the pubs. Quote
JTUK Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I am bemused by the best live music pub in a student city failing..?? Out of all the towns round here.... Canterbury is an oddball.. and I don't know any bands that play there in the pubs. Kent Beer Fest, ( althu the music is certainly secondary ) St Peters, The Marlow, of course and anything Kings get involved in seem to do ok.... and then there is the University... but something doesn't stack up..?? Maybe there is too much going on..?? Quote
spongebob Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Played there myself. Nice place. Something's got to be done to stop these places closing like they are. Quote

waynepunkdude Posted July 4, 2013 Author Posted July 4, 2013 The night of my engagement Some great memories Quote
njr911 Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I'm still bitter about the Dutchess in Leeds being the Hugo Boss shop, I (miss)spent my youth in there. Two reasons to hate Hugo Boss, Nazi uniforms and they took my pub! Quote
