Dom in Dorset Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 It's time to get a better 12 string, I've been using a Stagg, I set it up nicely but the sound is a little "cheap". I'm on a budget so the Villager seems to be a good option at £300 http://www.fender.com/en-GB/series/california/villager-12-string-cutaway-electric-solid-spruce-top-mahogany-back-and-sides-fishman-preamp-with-built-in-tuner Anyone tried one?
canarybass Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013
Anyone tried one?
I've not tried one, but it looks fantastic - I love those hockey stick headstocks you get on Fender 12 strings!
JimBobTTD Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I had a different Fender 12 string which was rather poorly built. I think that there is a reason that Fender are the top dog when it comes to electric guitars and basses but hardly see a look-in when it comes to acoustics.
skankdelvar Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 (edited)
those hockey stick headstocks you get on Fender 12 strings!
Also known as 'Smurf Hat' headstocks over the pond, apparently. In any event, I like them too. Another reason why I am gas-ing for an Electric XII. Roll on the Squier re-issue. Mykesbass Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I'd check out some of the lesser name brands like Cort and Aria before making a decision.
