Talking about this in the pub tonight.
Paul McCartney, Trevor Horn and Sting were our main ideas, then we got a bit stuck...

You might consider Will Lee, who has a new album out featuring songs he wrote. He is a fab bassist.

I think Peter Cetera might have been a writer, but I didn't keep up with Chicago much after they went bland as cheese sauce.

Les Claypool anyone?

In my band I got about 40% of the music and 98% of the lyrics (as I'm the singist aswell).

Marcus Miller, apart from his own Band[s] also a lot of material when he was in the David Sanborn Band,
plus songs for various artists and some film and TV work.

Stanley Clarke, once again in all his own bands, plus quite a bit of film scoring.

Jimmy Haslip, wrote quite a bit in the Yellow Jackets.

Kyle Eastwood, his own band as well as some film scoring.
