Bass Advice Please SX Jazz

Anyone played one of these ???

Any info or reviews on SX Basses would be great. I've seen a few on youtube but I'm hoping for some Basschat input.

The old ones used to be pretty good - good parts put together pretty well (check out Essex basses on TB)
Don't know much about the hooky head jobs.

I had an SX P bass for a while. A good player, let down by poor quality hardware. The tuners were made from cheese so I replaced them with Wilkinson ones. To be honest my money would go on the Vintage brand.

The one I had was ash body, maple fretboard bound and blocked. Quality of the hardware seemed decent for the money, the sound was excellent and the looks stunning.

Mine was the older one with the Fender shaped headstock.

The only real downside was that it was a little heavy - around 10Ibs.
