No, he's bloody fantastic at this, but please, please keep your voice down. Before you know it he'll hear it. Then what? ;)

My mate Gaz is playing Fuji Rock festival the set before Bjork's and I asked him to suggest this to her!

Edit: Fuji not Fiji!

Ha!... loving this thread. some right corkers

Back in the 80's I remember a pub rock band doing the local circuit called Beergut 100, made I titter a bit!
Anyone remember Haircut 100? (...what kind of name is that anyway?)

One of the pioneers of tribute was Bjorn Again.

T. Rextasy are pretty successful.

Another I've encountered (but never seen) is Alike Cooper.

'Pearl Glam'
I want to start a band doing Pearl Jams songs in a glam rock style :D.

As Haircut 100 have been mentioned, our drummer was asked by Nick Hayward to be H100s drummer when they were on the up, he turned it down as, in his own words, "they were sh*t" :P

Also, not a tribute as such but the name made me chortle, while in a pub in Woolacoombe there was an ad for a mariachi band called 'Juan Direction'

In my youth, back in the Promised Land, Jarrrow Elvis and Hebburn Cliff were minor legends and can be found on Google ( made me laugh again!)

Can't remember the Clash tribute band's name, but the singer was Joe Strimmer.

If I was starting a tribute, I reckon I'd go for something like Clash Act.

They have played round this way the last few years (assuming it's the same band lol) also the "Fool Fighters" were very good (singer looks just like Dave Grohl!)

Don't know if it is an original idea but I thought of a Karaoke band playing U2 backing tracks called You, too. Maybe a bit niche...

Probably not as niche as a Gore-pop crossover from... Cannibal Corrs.

Gore-pop... A sadly under-represented genre!

I was thinking of a Green Day covers band called 50 Shades of Green...
