dannybuoy Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) Just spotted these! http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-V-Olympic-White http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-Fretless-3CS http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-PJ-Candy-Apple-Red Shame they don't offer rosewood boards on the P5's though. dannybuoy Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 In fact there's even more - all new colours and a 5-string Jag! http://www.keymusic.com/en/newproducts/Bass Quote
BetaFunk Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 There are lots of new models http://basschat.co.uk/topic/211505-2013-squier-vintage-modified-bass-vi/page__st__20__p__2133596__hl__squier%20bass%20vi__fromsearch__1#entry2133596 Quote
NJE Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I have been waiting for Squier to do a proper 5 string precision and these look fantastic. If they are even close to the quality of the classic vibe's I'm getting one, well done squier. Quote
Bassman Sam Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Well, if my wrist Op has been a success and I can play again, I'm having a PJ. They look really good and easy to upgrade. Quote
guybrush threepwood Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013
I like the olly white p5
Aye, this looks very interesting... Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I love the sound of p basses but not always with me playing them, might be worth another look though and I like a good Squier too. Quote
clashcityrocker Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hope that pj has a jazz neck like the old deluxe p basses did,I can't see it written anywhere Quote
bassatnight Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 The fretless P looks awsome and judging by past models should sound awesome too! Not sure why fretless P's are so rare? Quote
dmz Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Wow - there's a Bass VI as well ! http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Bass-VI-Olympic-White ....who'd have thought...... Quote

Lfalex v1.1 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Ceramic magnets in the J of the PJ? Whilst it may actually sound better, it probably isn't in keeping with the Vintage vibe. Interesting if the P is something other than Ceramic.... Alnico? Quote
skej21 Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Yeah I posted some links to some models in the other thread. So many new models its hard to post them all. Some great stuff though. Exciting times for beginner bass players and guitarists with some many options to pick from. Quote
Dr M Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 http://www.keymusic.com/en/product/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Jazz-Bass-Olympic-White Now that I like. Ignoring the description for now (it starts by saying left handed!) if it has the unfinished neck of the current sunburst VM Jazz and the Duncan Designed pickups, I'm going to find it very hard to say no. bigsmokebass Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Danny, i hate you now ..... I'm joking but damn, these are some pretty nice basses. currently thinking fretless P bass and if I'm swayed back in to 5 strings, the Jag 5 I'd personally have to see and hear the 5 string P in person before i purchase one :-/ BSB Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 For me, the 5-string P's look too wide at the nut (why I opted for a Yamaha BB over a Fender P5) - so interested to read the specs when they show up on the Squier website. The 5 string PJ Jag could be a winner if the neck is a bit slimmer. No GAS for the fretless P here as I hate the ebanol boards - much prefer the feel of real wood! Quote
Telebass Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013
Well, if my wrist Op has been a success and I can play again, I'm having a PJ. They look really good and easy to upgrade.
Already done. My only quibble is that the tuner holes are a bit north of where they should be, other than that, the neck is pretty good. Although I've replaced it... Quote
bigsmokebass Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 For the price, I'm hoping it won't be a bad bass just to toy around with. If I was a fretless player by hobby/trade and after a serious bass, then that'd be a different matter. I've noticed all pickups are no longer "Duncan Designed" and are now "Fender Designed" as part of the Upgraded for 2013. Surely that's a cheeky step backwards? After trying brands like Sterling (by MusicMan) I'm hoping Squier are taking a step up to making better quality instruments for a change. The Sterling S.U.B bass was fantastic for the £320 mark, for Squiers £350 range I'm probably going to get my hopes up lol. BSB Quote
bassatnight Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Not sure when these new basses wil be released as I can't find any trace of a Squire fretless P anywhere on the web? Quote
Biaeothanata-Bassist Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I'm considering getting one of the Olympic White P5s and one of the Olympic White with maple, black block and bound Jazz basses. I'm tuning down to A in some of my bands songs so the P5 would do that perfectly! Would have to stick a Badass V on it though... I'd have to have the Jazz bass because that's everything I ever wanted in a Jazz bass (minus a Badass II and some passive Duncans/Dimarzios) I wonder when they'll be available over here? Can any one shine some light? Quote
