Musicman20
Those demo's don't even show the B properly...
Green Alsatian
Hmm - I can see and play the vids fine here (Chrome on Windows 7) - I literally just pasted the URLs into my posts. Computers - can't live with them, can't dispose of them in public swimming pools. Hopefully this link will take you to them: http://www.youtube.com/user/fendermusical/videos I agree about them not being good showcase of the low B - the Modern Player Jazz V demo was similarly afflicted, with a whiff of the B. Given that they have a separate demo of the 4 string, I'd have placed the emphasis of the 5-string demo on the much-lower end. Interestingly, I notice the J-pickup on the new Jaguar V and PJ looks to have adjustable pole pieces, like a DiMarzio. A pity we don't get to hear it soloed. Musicman20
Is my technique awful or does that session guys wrist look very 'off angle'?
Green Alsatian
Looks uncomfortable - especially on the fretless P vid.

DolganoFF
I've got my P5 two days ago! Nice bass overall with few shortcomings: 1) Lightweight body and big tuners making the bass a bit neck-heavy 2) Bad setup - nut grooves were way to high, bridge saddles too 3) Couple high frets, needed to be filed down 4) Mismatched wood pieces showing through the sunburst

DolganoFF
It is average for a fender-like, not horrible nor excellent ... I've another 5 string which has better B (homebuilt from exotic wood and with "boutique" techniques, far from the basic Fender design). Few other pics of my Squier P5, by the way: Edited August 9, 2013 by DolganoFF
Green Alsatian
Thanks (and for the extra pics). I'm rather interested in the Olympic White model - never played 5-string P, a curiosity piqued by Ed Friedland's review of the Fender 5-string P.
