Silvia Bluejay
At least you'll be able to reassure me and tell me it's not that bad after all, in a few months' time Edited August 13, 2013 by bluejay
Kiwi
Not exactly "vintage" is it? I mean, if you're only making it next week, I mean, stands to reason dunnit?
Don't care. I'll take my modern bass and make my own modern corner for contemporary customs. And it'll be decorated all nice and modern looking and you won't be allowed to play. So there. Then every so often someone will come over to your corner and ask if one of you could play 'Ain't Nobody' by Chaka Khan. Then snort derisively about the lack of a B string and question loudly and rhetorically whether serious bassists still play four string instruments. Russ
After last year's M25 hell I'm thinking if I come this year it will be by train - if so I'll only be able to bring a bass and maybe some fx - my only problem is I have a very important gig on the Monday so may have to rehearse that day - if not ill be there - I'll know nearer the time - I'd be happy to do some kind of technique workshop this year but again I'll have to confirm in a few weeks once I've sorted the rehearsal thing out. Cheers and hope to see you all there Mike
Even after last year's debacle, I'll be driving this year and a lift shall be available! Although I'm not going to tempt fate with the "how can the same $hit happen to the same guys twice?"
timmo
Anyone know how far the train station is from the school? It says 4 miles, but on the map it looks like an easy 10-15 minute walk

Chertsey station looks close on the map as the crow flies but it's a lot longer walk that it looks as you have to go a long way out of your way if walking. WalMan
So I now have a dep that night, still it's on the way home but may put a slightly different slant on what goes in the car. It'll be a long weekend. Get back from hols the night before (semi sensible hour & should be home before midnight). Load the car in the morning (making sure to include a crate of Red Bull). SEBB all day. Dep on the way home. Rehearsal pre recording later in the week with the prog band on Sunday, and back to work for a rest on Monday :-)

timmo
I am just looking at ways to get there . At the moment. I am working the Friday night. I don`t get bookable holidays. they are all assigned for me. The only way is too get a swap. If I can`t, I finish at 7am Saturday morning. I can get a train , at 8.15 and arrive at Addelstone at 11. I don`t mind getting a taxi, and get a return at 5.10pm. I really would like to go as I am learning and think I would learn a great deal from all of you nice people. I still need a day pass from the wife, but just wanted to know how I could get there before I have to get one. So Addlestone and taxi so far seems the easiest for me. I won`t have any gear as the only things I have is a Warwick Rockbass Fortress and a battered Pro Aria 2, with an 50 watt EC10 Eden amp. Latest model just released this year though

JapanAxe
Just had a mildly brilliant idea - I will bring my Orange Valve Tester, so if you want your valves checked (whether in a head you're bringing, or loose spares etc), bring 'em over to me. You can find the full skinny here. Please note: (1) It won't test rectifier valves; (2) Valves must be tested from cold to avoid spurious results. 5 weeks to go! Bikenbass
Fully intend to be there. Fender Roscoe Beck V, GK MB200, Barefaced Compact. Anyone taking a Precision and/or Jazz equipped with an East preamp? Seriously considering fitting one of these but I'd like to hear how much difference it really makes to the tone. Anyone along the A11-M11-M25 anti clockwise route, who'd like a lift, let me know. Citroen Xsara saloon, so a bit of space available. pete.young
Anyone taking a Precision and/or Jazz equipped with an East preamp? Seriously considering fitting one of these but I'd like to hear how much difference it really makes to the tone.
I have a P-Retro in my CIJ Precision, I can bring that if you like.
