You gotta wear it.
Go for what you like the look of. Just remember a black bass is like a black car- impossible to keep clean.
My thing is wood finish, if yours is solid colour you will love it as much.
The sound is excellent regardless.

I have gas for a 4 string spector in white a la Sting and Gene simmons, those all black forte basses look amazing though
