Dubs
That seems an awful lot for a SUB. I’ve not seen many Sterling SUB basses though, but £820??!!?!!??!
squire5
Look at the number of bidders on this.It can't be worth that much. Can it? Edited June 9, 2008 by squire5

bass_ferret
Yep - there are lots of people that get suckered into paying over the odds cos its ebay so must be a bargain. One of my ex wives got caught like that down the market, paid twice as much for a set of glasses than they were in Argos cos of some market stall patter. Del Boy would have been proud. noisedude
Shill bidding's definitely wrong but it's the bidder's responsibility to know how much the item he's bidding on is worth! This would only work if you were enough of a muppet to offer this much money for this bass!
budget bassist
Lol, to be honest i'd rather have a real sterling unless there's some collector out there that's never seen a SUB sterling. saying that though there were a couple on the other day and they went for below £400... You're probably right, probably is shill bidding.
guzzibass
Hmmm how much? And there's that fab pucka MM for sale on this site!!!!! Don't get it!!!
mikeh
It might not be shill bidding, I once bought a Harley benton 6 string bass off ebay for £195 after a few months stuck it back on for 99p no reserve. In vthe last hour 2 bidders went mad for it, and it ended up selling for £295!!!
tauzero
Its a fix/set-up/sting. Look at the bid history - bidder 6 will be related to the seller, the only substantial bidder he outbid was bidder 4 which is a new ebayer, quite probably also related to the seller.
If it was shill bidding, I'd expect bidder 6 to withdraw his winning bid. Who do you think was doing the shill bidding?
