Urban Bassman Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 +1 for Greenslade (although they did allow a 6 stringer in on Spyglass Guest and Time & Tide ) Can i also suggest The Bad Plus Quote
LukeFRC Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 keys and violin anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVLylgAu6T0 Quote
Lord Sausage Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 (edited) Totally the wrong place to post this as this is a band with just a guitar and drummer but they make an incredible sound for just two people. It's all live. Loop pedals and triggered samples. Good songs too, not a load of bollocks, screaming and sludge etc Edited July 19, 2013 by Lord Sausage Quote
BassTractor Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 A post from the "Bands with one or more guitars" thread! Right here! The sacrilege! Roll out the KZ! Wait! It's one of those optical illusions! If you stare at it long enough, a bass and a Hartke thing may appear in the background. Thanks for posting, good Lord. I liked that. best, bert Quote
Duarte Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Great non-guitar sounds! Noah Deere Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 The band I am in (Crimson Clocks) don't have a guitarist. We did to begin with, and there is one on our recordings. Having said that we have now done more gigs without than with and are about to record another CD that won't feature guitar at all. Audiences either seem to either dismiss us straight away for lack of guitar or really enjoy what we do - seems to depend on if we are playing in a rock venue or elsewhere Quote

EliasMooseblaster Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Oh, and we seem to have managed two pages of this without any mention of The Nice (first LP excepted), or even Emerson, Lake and Palmer! Now I think about it, I seem to remember the Crazy World of Arthur Brown managed without a guitarist as well. Maybe it's not such a new thing after all. Quote

Roland Rock Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) Lightning Bolt. Just bass and drums, although the bass does sound quite guitarish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X3-RRCR7qY Edited July 19, 2013 by Roland Rock Quote
