Hi, I have put a set of D'Addario ECB81 Flat chromes .045, .065, .080, .100 on a Gretsch Electromatic G5440 long scale bass which replaced D'Addario EXL190 Round Wound Nickel wound .045, .065, .080, .100. I've noticed the tension is a lot higher on the flats do I need to worry about neck problems/damage, they play fine, thanks for any advice

As above. Do quarter turns to tighten the truss rod, then leave overnight to settle. The quarter never (in my case anyway) seems enough at the time, but once left overnight it`s amazing how much of a difference it makes, once settled.

Cheers for your replies, it does play nice no fret buzz etc, so do you think I would still need to tweek the truss rod

With higher tension strings you would expect no fretbuzz as the neck will be more bowed. Higher action is fine though especially with hollow body. How is the intonation?
