Dad3353
There's no denying it. Listening (not necessarily all in one sitting...) to 9 different version of the same song is not the simplest of tasks. The fact that it's ska/reggae doesn't make the task any easier. Nevertheless, those with distinguished taste enough, musical acumen and excellent hearing are finding immense pleasure from dissecting these entries for the June/July Mixing Challenge. There is diversity, intriguing bravura nay, even folly in the many approaches taken. Can you identify the 'foreign' drums surreptitiously added..? Is the vocal line treated with enough respect..? Why have some parts been mysteriously cut away; yet others added..? Which of these fine offering would be the favourite to grace your turntable..? I shall not wax too lyrical, and shall admit that it is entirely legitimate to not like any of the results. Which is the least objectionable, in that case..? Would you care to explain why (optional...)..? Whatever your views and listening habits, break new ground in giving these 9 entries the benefit of your erudition and redaction skills. Take your time; we have until end of month to get the votes in. Uncle Sam..? We don't give a **** about what Uncle Sam needs. BassChat needs you. Listen, please, and vote. Here's the link...
