Hi guys,

Something a little different from the usual stomp box drooling....

So basically, I have just used the Waves V-Comp for the first time on bass and nearly wet myself :gas:

Sublime. Seriously. The detail in the tops it brought out without being harsh (lovely 'analoguey' fret noise on slides), rich mids and solid lows. OMG I can't tell you how chuffed I am to have this sound! (It was my passive jazz running through my eden rig via a Senn 441 mic - then V-Comp the only plug)

So for all you mixers out there - pros or hobbyists - what's your fave and why?? :)

I am mucking around with Molot http://vladgsound.wordpress.com/plugins/molot/
Give it a go.

Looks pretty interesting indeed - long live adventurous freeware! :) I'll check the sound of this out later.

You had any luck on other sources?

Just downloaded a demo of wave's Kramer PIE compressor - a quick test on vocals proved it to be an extremely smooth and natural compressor with a subtle but present depth added to the tone.

Will report back after a bass test :)
