Guest MoJo
Yesterday I picked up a Hartke 4.5XL cabinet following Dan 'Dood' Veall's glowing recommendation and I must say, in the brief time I've had to test it, Dan wasn't wrong. Ideally, I would have liked to have paired it with an HA5500 but the guy selling the cab was selling it as a job lot with an HA3500. In the real world, how much difference would the HA5500's 330watts into 8 ohms make compared to the HA3500's 240watts into 8 ohms?
fretmeister
Not a lot. Headroom mainly. Hartke watts are damn loud as it is.
Phil Starr
1.4dB which is only just noticeable. You really need to double power to get a noticeable difference. Don't worry about it. I use the 3500 with a 2x10 with no problems and you'll be slightly louder than me.
Twigman
I use a HA3500 into a 4ohm BFB S12T - it's more than plenty loud enough.....despite folk telling me I need a GB 600/900 all the time.....I can't see the point. The HA3500's only downside is its bulk but I do have mine in the wooden box. I used to use it with a 8ohm Hartke VX1508 and to be honest it does not seem that much louder with the barefaced, just a lot less distorted and much much clearer. btw Alex if you read this I am loving the S12T - the more I use it the sweeter it sounds,,,,,,I am very close to my perfect tone now - very happy customer.
