Mexicola
This is a bit of a weird request but could you name any bass overdrive or distortion pedals that come in a white casing? I saw a video of a bassist with an incredible overdriven sound and the only pedal he was using was white. The only pedal I can think that it could be is a Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker? Are there any others? Cheers.

operative451
Joyo california sound? Not so much overdrive, more a sansamp copy amp simulator. Drives like a nutter though... Graham
Aye, as abov, are sure it wasn't a Boss tuner pedal and the overdrive came from the amp?
GazWills
fulltone ocd is a very good call, but also could be: OXFUZZ t-rex bass juice (it's creamy white) crowther audio pedals (hotcakes and the prunes & custard) are a creamy white too some of the mxr (guitar) dirt pedals are white lot of fuzzrocious pedals in white casings too
chrismuzz
The Darkglass Vintage is white i think.
Kev
What size was the pedal?? Many possibilities without any further info to narrow it down!
Mexicola
Yeah apologies, I should have just linked to the video. He has a boss tuner as well as the 'white' pedal. Thanks for the suggestions so far. It seems to have two channels so it could also be a Bass Metaphors or a Tortuga Sasquatch? JapanAxe
That's pretty rockin'! The only thing that spoiled it for me was the drummer pulling a face like he was trying to expel a grapefruit from his rectum
Sibob
Yeah not a clue I'm afraid. I can see that he's got a couple of bits, but the only visible is his Boss TU-2 Si
GazWills
listening to the song, and seeing the size of the pedal too, i'm 90% sure.... tronographic rusty box... sounds like jesus lizard bass to me, which is jazz bass and s/s traynor distortion... xgsjx
I really don't get what folk hear in that kind of bass tone? IMO it lacks bass & ends up sounding like a gui**r. But I suppose if we all liked the same sounds then music would get boring.

Guest FretNoMore
Go to one of the bigger online stores and look in the overdrive pedal section, lot's of white ones.

I used a similiar sound (but nowhere near as beefy) here (jazz bass + Rusty Box) - skip to 8:10 in: https://soundcloud.com/ex-civilians/fixtures-fittings

GazWills
I think in the right band / style of playing, it sounds immense. Shellac, Jesus Lizard etc, but it can be too much in some cases. But for the JL, it's perfect, IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boUZqysP5go
Ruiner
Obviously depends on the type of music. Bands like Shellac, the Jesus Lizard, Cop Shoot Cop etc. All use this kind of bass sound to great effect.

xgsjx
I've sussed what's wrong with the drummer! He's being forced to listen to & play along with this (It's the same tempo)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hWAU-lJFaM Edited March 24, 2014 by icastle Link fixed. Norm
To me it sounds mainly in the way he plays, bass up treble up, mids cut, hit hard & fast with a pick for max clank & buzz. Cool sound but a bit wearing if used in every song!
