john_the_bass Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Daion acoustic guitars are supposed to be the nuts - they were MIJ stuff I believe and the values of the Martin copies and such like are shooting up now - £300+ was one of the last ones I saw. Quote

Bassassin Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008
Like I said, I could be wrong....!
Realistically, £150's probably about what I'd expect a bass like this to reach, so somebody might well snipe it at the last moment & try & get it for that. Daion has a good reputation, but is not a common brand in the UK, which means those who don't know their JapCrap too well will probably be a bit reticent. I don't expect the zero feedback helps much, either. To me it looks like a very generic 70s JapCrap jazz - the little tuners & Gibson type nut usually indicate a budget range, so I'd expect a ply body under the sunburst & perhaps a two-saddle bridge under the valuable metal plate. It will probably have a good neck (if the frets aren't too worn) & the round-end generic Japjazz pups might sound a bit thin. I'd give her £50 for it. But then, I'm a pikey, me. Jon. Quote
