Just looks like a great idea all 'round.[/quote]

These are great instruments, i've played a couple now and really enjoy them. I know that thwaites in watford can get them. I think that your talking about £3500 maybe £4000 for the bass gigbag pickup and hardcase. If you travel abroad alot its well worth it. I believe the size and weight of it the airlines cannot refuse it, and it wont cost alot in excess baggage. Alot of people are using for this exact reason as its harder and harder to travel with the double. I saw larry granadier use one with bill frisell recently and sounded amazing.
The only thing i found was unamplified the bass lost a little of the lowend. But as most peoples gigs i guess are amped, no worries there.

So so true, and if you look at the costs of a great, light hardcase cropping up at £2800, then the czech ease, seems like an even better buy.

Tough call. If you're traveling alot and need portability, the Eminence is even more portable and less expensive. I guess it depends if you will
always be using a pickup instead of a mike. I can't see the Eminence miking very well, the Czech-Ease would be better at that.
