Big Bass Man Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Hi everyone - wanted to share with you all my AMAZING new bass - I got this Lakland 55-02 yesterday from fellow Basschat member and all round good guy andydye. Not gigged yet but just had a quick play and it's sounds and feels absolutely brilliant - it's a weird feeling, it just seems to "fit" me :-) Looking forward to my first gig with it soon! Quote
andydye Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Thanks matey, I hope the 55-02 gives you many pleasurable gigging hours and that your band are so impressed with the sound that they soon forget the p-bass... Quote

Machines Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 You can't go wrong with this bass, or Lakland in general, Quote
ezbass Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Congrats on the new Lakkie, I have the very same one and it has become my go to bass. Quote
Dingus Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I had a 44-02 a few years ago and it was a superb - sounding bass . These basses have got so many great sounds lurking in that pickup configuration that there really isn't much you can't do with them . As well as all the Fender and Musicman - inspired tones there are some fairly unique sounds in there too . I particulaly like the sound of the neck pickup combined with the front coil ( nearest to the neck) of the MM pickup . Chunky sounding with plenty of bottom end , but clear , articulate and defined at the same time . Enjoy it . Quote
Big Bass Man Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 Thanks guys for all the positive comments - think I've a bass for life here! The build quality is second to none and the range of sounds (as mentioned above by Dingus) is truly outstanding! I'm one happy bunny! Hmm maybe a DJ 5 as well then ? 😉 Quote
bubinga5 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 They are killer basses, the necks are really nice. very versatile. good buy. Quote

lou24d53 Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 These are lovely basses. I've got the deluxe version of this - on sale here actually. I just wish I'd bought the 4-string version instead and I'd be keeping it, finding the neck width just a tad uncomfortable for me. Quote
