joegarcia
So I'm off on tour tomorrow with my heavy instrumental psych/prog band ANTA. We are touring with our excellent friends Pigshackle too. ANTA & Pigshackle UK double-header tour Coming to : Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Bath, Croydon, London & Nottingham ---ANTA--- Playing material from their new record, 'Centurionaut', an album with all the fat trimmed, not a second is wasted in its 40 tight, punchy minutes. All of the band's hallmarks are present: kinetic, inventive drum work, guttural, throat-rattling bass, beautifully intertwined synth and organ lines and filthy, driving guitar. This time round though, the immediacy and urgency in the songs' execution leaves you short of breath. A heavy band for whom considered songwriting and catchy hooks are as important as bruising riffs, in 'Centurionaut' ANTA have produced the most convincing demonstration of their vision so far. http://www.anta.org.uk/ "Nimble guitar and keyboard riffs, spiralling rhythmic tricks and generous gong strikes, with a terra bound emphasis on metallic muscle...hugely impressive" - Rock-A-Rolla "Bristol quartet Anta arrive like a steamtrain dragging a sledgehammer through your speakers as the sludgy, meaty, abattoir-esque riffs burst into life and pierce your brain" - Echoes And Dust ---Pigshackle--- Pigshackle is a four stage experimental Alchemic process disguised as a child's Victorian parlour game. A laboratory of fizzing oxides and bubbling mercury colliding with the nostalgic melancholy of an oak-whittled rocking horse. A vision of the future seen through John Dee's eyes where the unravelling secrets of nature taunt the minds of men. The merging of solar and lunar, the shaping of the elements and the taming of man and beast. A dance ignorant of conventional forms and performed in the golden ballrooms of the Celestion. It is your hopes and dreams turned to coal, the wrenching of your soul from its physical bondage and the carving of your granite sarcophagi. Rejoice, pilgrim, your journey is nearly at its end. wingnutkj
Hi Joe, It was good to see you in Glasgow - it was a great show and I had a great time! Mind you, I had a reasonably epic hangover this morning, and I'm back to gassing for an RD Artist bass again...
