BigBeatNut
I'm getting '405 not allowed' when I try to add a reply to the precisions thread in 'gear porn'. The entire content of the returned page is: <html> <head><title>405 Not Allowed</title></head> <body bgcolor="white"> <center><h1>405 Not Allowed</h1></center> <hr><center>nginx/0.8.54</center> </body> </html> Edited July 30, 2013 by BigBeatNut
icastle
Not sure what's doing that as you've been able to post this report. I've just been to that thread and added a reply without any problem at all. Try it again and let me know if you're still having problems.
BigBeatNut
I made the post many many times unfortunately ... what happened ( discovered later ) was that my post was successful but the 405 happened after the post. I went back and deleted 8/10 duplicate posts.
icastle
Well in crude terms, the error message indicates that the web server (i.e. Basschat) is being sent some information in the wrong format. As the site (and the specific thread) works when I post to it (using IE9 and IE10), the problem would appear to be 'elsewhere'. There's a limit to how far 'under the bonnet' I can get to, but my usual suspects would be an over enthusiastically hardened proxy server or a browser issue. BigBeatNut
It's gone away though. I think what may have happened is that in the course of trying to post I got an error message (no closing quote tag) and the mixup happened from there onwards. I'll see if I can reproduce. [/quote] Okay, that wasn't it then. No problem right now, and I'm posting with the same browser on the same computer. BigBeatNut
However I CAN reproduce the problem in the 'precisions' thread in the 'gear porn' forum. I quoted a message with attachments and mistakenly removed the closing quote tag. I got an error message, put the closing quote tag back and hit submit. The post got added to the thread, but all I saw on my screen was a 405 message. Edited July 30, 2013 by BigBeatNut
icastle
I followed your instructions to the letter but I still can't reproduce it. It was the post by Mike 110 showing six images of his white PJ in a blue lined case. What browser are you using?

icastle
[quote name='BigBeatNut' timestamp='1375216329' post='2158433'] Google Chrome, on an iMac. [/quote] Ah, I'm not going to be able to recreate the conditions exactly then. Google Chrome isn't a problem, but I can't emulate the iMac implementation of it.
