Turk
I hardly ever use my Warwick Streamer due to a chronic neck-dive issue. A leather strap with a rough unfinished underside helped a little, but now the issue is sorted thanks to one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190875549598 I can now just let the bass hang 'sans-hands' stylee, and it does not move. Well pleased with the outcome, quality of the strap, speed of delivery, price.
rhythmbug
Stumbled across this thread while looking for solutions for the neck dive on my Corvette. Seller no longer appears to have anything for sale. Any idea who else might sell this strap, or a good alternative? mcnach
I never liked this solution because it just pulls on my T-shirt. It may be ok if you wear a jacket, or something more solid than a T-shirt
Mottlefeeder
Stumbled across this thread while looking for solutions for the neck dive on my Corvette. Seller no longer appears to have anything for sale. Any idea who else might sell this strap, or a good alternative?
I tried several methods with my 5-string Corvette: 1) I drilled a deep hole and fitted a threaded insert in the end of the horn. I was then able to fit a threaded rod into the horn, so that the sides of the hole supported the rod, and the threaded insert kept it in place. You need to extend the horn by about 1 1/2 inches to get the bass to balance, and it looks odd. 2) I poured nuts and washers into a padded phone case and hung it on the body end of the strap - from memory, you need about 12 oz of extra weight (hanging on your shoulder). 3) I bought five Hipshot Ultralites and fitted them - they helped but were not enough. 4) I lined the control cavity with a piece of lead of the same depth as the cavity - it helped, but was not enough. They all have an effect, but you end up with an instrument that is heavier, looks wrong, or is considrably more expensive that what you wanted to own in the first place. I sold mine on. rhythmbug
Blimey, that's pulling out all the stops alright, glad I asked the question. And the issue with the leather strap pulling on your shirt sounds annoying, but it seems a lot of people must put up with it? I can't play with a jacket on, I'd sweat like a horse. For years I've just accepted the body imbalance but finally decided I've had enough. I'm not talking about my wife either (if I had one that is). Turk
Shame, I'm well pleased with mine. Bought another for my BB's too, not that they have a neck-dive issue, just that it's a good comfy strap. I've noticed it pull a little on a thin t-shirt, but it's a small price to pay for eliminating the neck-dive, and I've not had any problems with any of my normal weight t-shirts anyways. This looks a similar kind of strap and may be worth a punt: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rotosound-High-Quality-Soft-Suede-Guitar-Strap-BLUE-/290866983028?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item43b905f074
AttitudeCastle
Tried putting a weight on the strap? I found the neck dive on my Attitude annoying, but I got used to it, I kind of like it, but don't miss it when it's not there! But live if I have a small weight on the strap towards the bridge strap button, plus a wireless pack attached/taped to the strap evens out the weight nicely! Something to consider
goingdownslow
I pass the strap through my belt to stop neck dive on my EB3. May also help keep the @rse of your trousers from hanging down by your knees.
DolganoFF
Searching for a remedy to the neck dive problems of my Squier Precision 5, I ended with this rear strap button position: This ended the neck dive definitely. It stays balanced even with the most slippery strap now...

Can't believe it took me so long to realise a suede strap would solve the Streamer's neck-dive issue.
