antnee Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Hey guys, I've been looking for a reasonably priced practice amp recently and have found is gem on eBay. It's not weird or wonderful in all honesty. Just wanted some opinions on the amp and a sensible price! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roland-cube-60-Bass-Amp-in-w-o-/390636065755?ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123 Any advise is always appriciated! Quote
Moos3h Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 If you can get that for sensible money, it's a belter. It's not particularly hi fi, or even bassy but a good solid tone and would cope with smaller gigs too! Quote
throwoff Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 What ^ he said! More than capable of gigging at the dog and duck open mic. Decent little combo Quote
icastle Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I used to use one of these back in the 80's. Great little combo but nothing super special by todays standards. This one has been painted, they originally shipped with orange leatherette (if you look at the pics carefully you can see a little bit of it showing where the paint has been scraped off). The new ones have a lot more features and go for about £350, sensible price, given it's age and assuming it's all working and the driver is intact, certainly less than £100 I'd say. Quote
Musky Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 With Overdrive and Reverb, is that not a guitar amp? Quote
Dave Vader Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 oh I used to love these, but can't be bothered to search them on ebay anymore cos of all the new ones clogging up the search results. I would like this, but too far away for me. Good luck. Quote

Grangur Posted August 2, 2013 Posted August 2, 2013 I don't think the guy really knows what it is or what to do to fix it up. If you get it, be prepared for having to actually replace the pots. If they really could be sorted with a "WD40" spray he'd have done it. That said, use switch-cleaner not WD-40, but you know that already. I've got a 100W Bass Cube. It's a bit "bright" for my liking, but it does the job and it's solid. Quote
antnee Posted August 3, 2013 Author Posted August 3, 2013 Good spot on the just a normal Cube! Think I wont be touching it with a barge pole... Thanks for the advise guys! Quote
