I am aware that silly money is being asked for these pedals, but I tried one back in 2002 and didn't like it! I much preferred the synth options on a used Boss ME-6B costing about the same (£150), so I bought that. Obviously if I'd gone for the Akai I'd now be sitting (or stomping) on a fortune.

Same here, I had one, didn't like it and got rid, (for a sensible amount of money), I think people think they will give them instant 'Muse', when Chris' sound is more than just that single pedal.

Ridiculous! You could get a custom made pedal for less than that!!!! Do you think it comes with a free Chris W and Matt Bellamy?....for that truly authentic Muse sound !!!
