SVT-212AV

The Ampeg SVT-212AV bass enclosure delivers pure Ampeg tone in a ported cabinet design that bridges the gap between the fast transient response you want and the rich low end you deserve. The SVT-212AV features 2x12″ custom Eminence® LF drivers and a 1″ compression driver with 3-way level control in a rugged cab with vintage Ampeg styling. Rated to handle 600W RMS at 4ohms, the SVT-212AV is an ideal match for the Ampeg V-4B bass head. Plus, with an optional classic black grille cloth available, it’s the perfect

Ampeg 212 - that looks nice, keep us posted on the sounds of your new rig Grissle, as an Ampeg fan (though unfortunately unable to carry them anymore) will be interested to hear about this set-up.

$1300 so should be under a grand over here?
Yeah but usually all that happens is the $ is changed for £ with nothing else changed

One of the tube experts on Talkbass has mentioned an issue with plate voltage and keeping to the original design.

It'll be well over £1000 over here...may as well get an Orange.

Being an ampeg fanboy I'm really looking forward to the 2x12, I've been looking for a smaller cab and this one really appeals to me. I just hope it's not horrendously expensive

Agree.
I have the same thoughts and the same plan.
It's a pretty fair price at Thomann IMHO.
On the other hand I wouldn't mind two of the some what bigger(total volume) SVT112.More lowend hopefully, and the abillity to split them for small club gigs.

Just followed the Thomann link. The price does seem a little steep.:-S

I'll just have to wait for that lottery win I guess!...

Eh,I guess you're right.Compared to prices of Bergantino cabs for instance at bassdirect it's not that cheap.
I hope the prices will come down after a while.(Or ,not increase)I was comparing to the prices of Aguilar and others at Thomann.

Is the V4B out yet then?
End of August, apparently.
If it can get a similar sound to the SVT-CL I might have to get one.

Hiya! I'm on my phone at the mo but I know it was mentioned in the new thread over there that's run into a lot of pages...I'm no tube expert at all but one of the guys over there thinks the tubes / plate voltage won't be the same...

I'm told the list price from Ampeg will be £1294 and they're hoping to have them by October.

The cabs are well overpriced when you compare them to the SVT210AV, which is half the price of the 112!
Agreed. Very expensive for an Ampeg cab.

My concern here would be how powerful the D and G will be through a 212.

I have a 212 which really delievers there and a pr of 2x112 which don't... so assuming the amp is what you want,
I'd be looking at the cab very carefully. For that money it really should and then it will be worth it.
You'll pay that money for a couple of 112's
