theshape101 Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 I've a 33" scale bass that is strung B-G and I find that generally when restringing the bass the B string's taper happens on the post (as they are usually made for 34/35" scale basses), which caused a string to snap at that point the 1st time I did a string change. Has anyone any recommendations for strings to try that might avoid this or is there any B-G string sets available for 33" scale basses? I usually use .45-.130 strings. Quote
molan Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Thomastik and La Bella often have gauges and scales other people don't. I just tracked down some Mustang specific and Shergold 6 medium scale strings for someone. Both were special order but got them in about 10 days Quote

ikay Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I believe Newtone strings can make up custom sets so they may be worth contacting - http://www.newtonestrings.com Quote
