Fender Marcus Miller Jazz

Just wondered if it's possible to junk that odd looking scratchplate on the Japanese Marcus Miller & replace it with a regular shaped one without having to undergo major surgery on the electrics?

To my mind the standard fit item on the MM bass just looks "wrong"

im think this came up a short while ago. i think someone said that the route was too big to fit the control plate, so thats a no. not 100% sure, though.

Yeah, I had a Marcus Miller. Fab bass apart from the huge scratchplate - just looks wrong.
Decided I couldn't get away with it any longer and sold it to fund the '73.

I believe the routing under the plate goes something like this......



So you can't just put a normal J bass plate on.
