DanEly
Has anyone had experience with streaming a live show/gig? I'm looking at trying to set up a live stream of my bands EP launch. What I'm essentially looking for is a application that I can run on a laptop that can also take a line out from the desk, in to my mac and then stream the video along with the audio from the desk What applications have you used, has it cost you and what was the quality of the stream, audio & appearance like? Wooks79
I'd just film it and put it on youtube the next day to be honest.

Wooks79
I agree it's a great idea if you are likely to interact with the people watching, Dave McPherson makes good use of things like that, gets fans to pick set lists, then streams acoustic gigs from home... It works well cos its just him and Ye people at home. If its a launch gig, I'd just concentrate 100% on the crowd there and engage them first. If you aren't including the people online somehow, it may as well be the next day they see it anyway? That's just me, I reckon it's more hassle that you might expect, but a great idea if done properly! Good luck, if you pull it off, post a link on here! BassBunny
Yanek Gwizdala does this quite a bit. Can't hurt trying to email him.

This is more of a personal project that really interests me as I've never really seen smaller acts do something like this. I can see getting the audio quality up to a decant standard being the biggest foul in play. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

BigRedX
It might be worth talking to White Collar Zoo. They stream live gigs in Nottingham every week. They'll be doing our gig on Friday (9th August).

Had a look at most of the apps and websites they either charge or require users to pay to watch. I need something that will do it for free! Wooks79
There's a free iPhone app called ustream that could do something for you, but I doubt you would be able to sync up sound from the desk, just what hits the phones that are streaming... Dad3353
I used this several times last year for our annual Hofner French bash, it worked very well. It'll put out whatever you're putting into the PC (webcam for me, but desk audio would work just a s well...). I did it all for free, and was pleased with the (OK, modest...) result. http://www.ustream.tv/new Hope this helps...
