throwoff
INB4 WRONG WAY ROUND! So I finally did it, obtained my dream bass, a Left handed USA Std P in Red (Mystic Red to be precise but the dream never stated and exact red...!) Stunning, my only electric bass now, I swapped the plate for a Black one right away as shown in the last photo! Jellyfish
It's hard not to like that shade of red. Lovely lovely looking bass, although I do prefer the white scratchplate.
throwoff
Haha, second person to prefer the white, I shall keep the white plate and swap and change as and when!
ezbass
I prefer the black, but there's something wrong with your P, it's back to front!
bertbass
Like the red, like the white but love that it's left handed. Nice!
mart
Cool. And I think black is the right choice for the guard!

cocco
Looks lovely mate. I had a red bass fetish at one point too. Had a lovely CAR jazz with a matching headstock and bound neck. All went tits up when I discovered p necks though.
Lfalex v1.1
Chrome red? Looks like it...
throwoff
Its called mystic red. Used it for first time at rehearsal today. Neck is just like butter. Want to put my 1/4 pounder in though. That stock 60s custom shop pup is a great pickup but not quite as in your face as my beloved duncans.
JapanAxe
I prefer the white plate but I am biased as I have CAR & mint white on my Sandberg.
Mornats
Lovely bass! +1 for white on red. I've got a CAR Overwater Classic J with a pearl white pickguard and it's luverly.
geoffbyrne
I'd go with a red tort - I've done this with a couple of guitars: Haven't done it with a bass, tho'. G. Edited August 12, 2013 by geoffbyrne
throwoff
Amazing the differences in opinion on scratch plates! She is perfect to me, something makes me fancy a white pearl plate at some point but for now black is the one!
Mornats
CAR and white = lurvely! Also, trans black and flame maple = lurvely! See the pic of my beauties. [attachment=141401:overwaters.jpg] So have a black one, a white one and oh my, those red ones look good too! Hmm, I wonder if my Overwater's scratchplate is a standard size and shape... throwoff
As an update. This is now sporting a duncan 1/4 pounder. The stock 60's custom shop is a wonderful pickup. Much more versatile than the Duncan but the Duncan fits with my power 4 piece so much more. I'm still totally and utterly in love. I went to a guitar store last week with a decent lefty bass selection and honestly didn't want to play anything. I'm so happy with this bass its unbelievable. If you had told me 5 years back I would be playing and over the moon with a rosewood board I would have probably had you committed. Now I wonder what the hell I was thinking with maple all these years...
