Jathan
Hi all, I have recently bought a second hand bass from Italy and it has the most amazing feeling strings on! The seller isn't replying to say what they are but they have black ends where they go into the tuners. I am just looking for any suggestions as to which bass strings have black ends. Apologies for being vague but normally just use Fender strings myself so have no idea what these are! Thanks!

Mornats
+1 for them being Overwaters. I love them. They're quite similar to GHS Bass Boomers in terms of sound and feel (including the time it takes to lose their initial zing).

molan
Standard La Bella and Carvin strings have black windings. Basically the same strings, really like their nickels.

geoffbyrne
Don't DR HiBeams have black silk? G.
davebass66
GHS pressure wounds also have black silk. They feel especially nice to play!
D.I. Joe
Until a few years ago Fender Nickel strings had black silks. You can still get the new old-stock on ebay. Unlikely, but a possibility nonetheless...
