graham1945 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 (edited) Hi, well, the time has come for me to part with my best bass. I purchased this new from Guitar Villa in Pennsylvania in 2005 and it has seen very little use since then. Basically it's such a nice bass I've been loathe to gig it. Hopefully the pics speak for themselves. It is in excellent condition, I cannot find a mark anywhere on it, no buckle rash or slapping swirl. It is un modified with standard Bartolini pick ups and pre amp and sounds great, almost any sound you want is in this bass. The maple burl is in my opinion amazing. It comes with the Roscoe case in the pics. Any questions please ask, but I don't have - or know how to - do sound clips, just check Youtube, there are far better players than me on there playing these. I am looking for a straight sale as I am trying to cut down my little bass collection, am in Bournemouth, and would prefer a face to face deal rather than ship this beauty. Don't mind a reasonable journey to do the deal, the price above is my lowest, and I think is a very fair price for this bass. My feedback is in the feedback section under "graham1945" Thanks for looking, Graham Edited August 17, 2013 by graham1945
Ghosts Over Japan Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 That is stunning. Easily the nicest looking Roscoe I have ever seen!
Kev Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Gorgeous LG, any more pictures of that spalted purpleheart on the back of the neck, looks great! Complete bargain as well, my Roscoe is easily the best bass i have ever played.
graham1945 Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Certainly Kev!
mcgraham Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 *drool* and what a bargain price, particularly given what they go for nowadays!
mtroun Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Oh wow and such a great price! Would you accept a kidney as I don't think you'd be remotely interested in my Stingray!
graham1945 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Sorry mtroun, liver might be a help, and I've just sold a Stingray (reducing my collection)
graham1945 Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Thanks for the compliments fellas. I've had a few enquiries and most want further details of the bass, so here goes! It was invoiced to me by Guitar Villa as a Roscoe LG3005 in wood with steel strings, so not much help there then! My guess is swamp ash for the body which was/is a common wood for KR to use, see pic below. The fingerboard is either all purpleheart, paduk or cocobola, again, see detail below. Weight is around 9.75 lbs on my bathroom scales. Colour is Roscoe standard cordovan. Nut width 45mm, 12th fret 65mm. String spacing at bridge is standard Roscoe 18.3mm. I'm not sure if Roscoe keep a register of all of their guitars (very few are identical), but if it's an issue I'll e mail them to see if they do. Their current website is not all that helpful. Again, I'm not looking for trades as I still have nine basses (almost as many as we have gigs in a year!). Reluctantly I would ship in the UK for the same price, although, as stated, I'd rather have a face to face deal. Further afield would be at buyer's cost. Thanks again for looking, and the comments so far! Graham
kurcatovium Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Fretboard looks like padouk or bloodwood, imo. All in all, the bass looks fantastic!
Montarbo Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Bump for a great roscoe !!!! Good luck with the sale
