bootlegjim
Hello everyone at Basschat! This is my first time-please be gentle with me... Been meaning to sign up for ages, but other stuff usually gets in the way-you know how it is.. About me= my name's Jim Logie, 50 years young, been playing since the dawn of time (1972). I live in Glasgow area. Been in bands all my life, still actively playing. Founder member of current band- Itchycoo Park ( www.myspace.com-itchycoopark ) We specialse in 60's music, mainly Beatles related, but everything from Hendrix tothe Who. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on, and as well as local gigs around Scotland, we play a number of international 60's / Beatles festivals ( Kentucky, Sweden, Ireland, New York) We also play at the Liverpool Beatleweek most years, and one of my biggest highs was supporting Neil Innes at the Cavern as "the Bootleg Rutles"- you really had to be there to believe it.. Been collecting guitars (acoustics, electric 6-strings and basses) for a good number of years. Currently have- Rickenbacker 4005 semi-acoustic bass (white, c.1979)- a real stunner MusicMan pre-ernie ball Stingray (originally owned by bassist from Uriah Heep!) Fender Precision 1974- which I've hand painted to look like George Harrison's psychedelic strat Fender Jaguar Bass which I bought new last year Two Hofner Violin Basses- 1965 and 1969 Epiphone Rivoli bass 1970- unfortunately pickups have been "John Birched" Hayman Bass 1961 Hofner Verythin Bass 1963 (I think) Framus Star bass + numerous cheapo copies which I've picked up over the years I'll put photos up soon if anyone is interested? Look forward to chatting! All the best Bootleg Jim
