1) the hope that buying fx pedals might help to turn me into a one-man band by creating rhythms/synth sounds/guitar-backing etc. instead of either buying a synth/trusting other musicians to play what i want to hear etc...

2) that ridiculous Zon Hyperbass thing, that i would never be able to play in a zillion years.
