Annoying Twit Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I have an irrational like of Aria IGB-68 basses. I've never played one, and they are just one bass among many. But I just like them for no reason I can explain. (Except perhaps that they look cool and have good reviews). But there's no rational reason for me watch-listing them, which I automatically do. They sometimes sell for bargain amounts on ebay, Or at least, IMHO bargain. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/aria-bass-guitar-/321187788004?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4ac848b4e4 Quote

EliasMooseblaster Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Big, heavy, slab-bodied basses. I know, I know, I've seen no small number of threads, recordings and videos in which people demonstrate that the body wood makes a negligible difference in comparison to the strings and the electronics...but somehow, small-bodied, lightweight basses just don't feel quite right to me. The logical part of my brain tells me to take heed of the evidence presented to me. The irrational part, I think, just prefers having a large deadweight hanging from my shoulders, and is still trying to convince the logical part of my brain that they do actually sound better! Quote
