I've not had this long, I acquired it on a bit of a whim as I've always wanted a USA Lakland, and I'm a big fan of it's first owner.

It's a beautiful instrument, but I have to be realistic in that one posh Jazz is enough for my current needs.

This bass is a one off commissioned by Paul Turner of Jamiroquai (I've had this verified by Lakland, not because it adds any value to the bass, but like I said, I'm a fan) and rather special it is too. Options include the P/J pickup configuration, colour coded headstock and blocks and binding on the neck. I've restrung it, given it the slightest of tweaks and it plays very well. If I wasn't such a Sadowsky superfan and could justify owning two high-end basses, then this wouldn't be going anywhere.

There is one small knock on the headstock, but other than that, it's in excellent condition.

I'm looking to recoup what the JO owes me - £1500. I might consider trades, but I'd prefer a straight sale. I'll post at cost as it'll be well protected in the rather plush/pimp Lakland flight case.

US Laklands are really very, very good. I've owned a couple and played a few more. Definitely up there with some of the best US builders :)

I sold a butterscotch USA JO earlier this week - absolutely outstanding instruments that stand-up with the best of the US boutique builders (mine went only as a result of my move to short-scale). Fantastic bass, fantastic price

To answer a few PM's, I can confirm that the Lakland is indeed made from 'purest green'

In the unlikely event (etc. etc.) would your taste in trades veer off in any particular direction?

I only ask as I don't have £1500 just now, but I do have a variety of trade goods ...
