Japhet Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I have a few effects pedals on my board which I run off a DC Brick. This has 9v and 18v supplies. I now have a couple of pedals which need 12v supply. Can I run them safely off the Brick and if so, 9v or 12v? Sorry for being thick - failed every Science miserably at school! Quote
Guest FretNoMore Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Well, if the pedal needs 12 only, then no. 9 or 18 is not 12. 9V won't hurt it but it's not likely to work properly. 18V may fry it. Edited August 18, 2013 by FretNoMore Quote
JapanAxe Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 It wouldn't be difficult to make a regulator circuit to take one of the 18V outputs and drop it to a stabilised 12V. Quote
Guest FretNoMore Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Or go the other way using an iso pump (e.g. Power-All) to up the voltage from 9V to 12V. Either way, just check that the power supply and brick can deliver enough amps on that output. Edited August 18, 2013 by FretNoMore Quote
