Roland Rock
I have a Xerograph on its way to me, and need to find the correct power supply. Taylor said I need to get " the local version of the Visual Sound 1-spot" Is this the one I need? http://www.gak.co.uk/en/visual-sound-1-spot-9v-power-supply/29509?gclid=CIqrqdzch7kCFW_HtAodulYAAQ Thanks, Chris
phil.i.stein
i just daisy-chain mine to a Diago powerstation . i've tried it with the Johnny Shredfreak one too, no probs. low-power draw. definitely not worth geting a separate supply for. fear not. Roland Rock
Ah, but this will be my only pedal...
pantherairsoft
It's a bog standard 9v centre neg, as with every Boss pedal and most other pedals too. The 1spot is a daisy chain supply, same as the Diago micro power/power station and a million other supplies. Just use it without the daisy chain connected. Roland Rock
OK, cheers. So although it may be a bit overkill for one pedal, it leaves options open for future additions.
pantherairsoft
Agreed. Get the MicroPower rather than the power station (it's cheaper and you don't need the headroom), or get a 1-Spot from Bass Direct. I imagine they'd be around the same price. Roland Rock
Well, it's been seven weeks, and still no sign of my Xerograph. I chased up a couple of weeks ago, to be told 'soon' and nothing since. I've chased again today - anyone know of any issues with Iron Ether at the moment? Been waiting on my IE order for about 6 weeks now... Might go email Taylor.

Roland Rock
I've never dealt with him before, so it's good to know that historically he's reliable. It's just that the initial order confirmation said 3-4 weeks, and I need it for a recording session booked in at the start of October. Fingers crossed! Hopefully I won't need to take you up on the offer, but thanks for the backup plan! :-)

Roland Rock
Just received an email from Taylor apologising and saying he'd send it today. Hurray. Looks like I won't be needing to take you up on your offer Woody, but thanks so much for the offer. Another example of BC community at it's best! Roland Rock
I'm really looking forward to playing with it. One of the tracks we are recording is quite dub reggae, and I want a really fundamental-no-harmonics tone. Also, hopefully I can add a few self-oscillating wails and whistles too! phil.i.stein
it works a treat for dub as a static filter !! (keep the resonance at bay ..) the expression pedal is where the synth stuff comes in, just stick blended fuzz in front, and get massive swells. Yeah, Shep warned me about keeping that self oscillation in check! I may check out the expression pedal possibilities at some point, but at the moment, I don't have need for those sounds in my band. More importantly, this is my 2000th post Edited September 26, 2013 by Roland Rock
phil.i.stein
by 'static' i mean just dial in how much or how little of the upper frequency range you want to come through, everything else is just big fat bottom-end ! around 9 -10 o'clock on the frequency dial seems to work for me. You never know, it could arrive tomorrow morning :-) I have a contingency plan: I'll be miking up my barefaced '69er which has all three right hand drivers low passed. Hopefully milking these will get an approximation of the sound I'm after Edited October 1, 2013 by Roland Rock
