Fionn
Jesus wept ... is this the low ebb in Stanley Clarke's tour de fromage? The album East River Drive, which this song is from, has some cheesy moments (a couple of great ones too), but this takes the cracker. It's not even from the 80's. Argh! ... SimonEdward
Oops! .. yes, the vid is a shocker.. but I actually like this track?! The music is probably quite typical of the time (1993)..
4000
I'm a big Stan fan and I never liked that album.
molan
Oh no - I really like this song. Stan the man and Howard Hewitt always sound great together for me Never seen the video before though - and would be quite happy never to see it again
Ziphoblat
Yikes. One of those things I think I only need to be exposed to once in my life... perhaps once was too much, even. And I like some of his stuff.

lonestar
Some of the clarke/duke project stuff goes well with bread and pickle too but that was the '80s I spose. Ive been enjoying his Toys of Men album on my iphone on holiday recently.
molan
Stan went through a period of featuring at least one 'sloppy' love song on each album for a while. Often featuring Howard Hewett on vocals. I have to own up that I'm a sucker for Howard Hewett and have some of his solo albums. I used to look forward to each new Stan album to see what he was going to do on the cheese front Heaven Sent is probably the other best known one from this era. Here's a little acoustic version - I think the lack of over produced sound helps cut through the cheese a little, lol N.B. It's not as long as it first appears, there's some random chatting between Stanley, Howard & George Duke at the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsVbPlacOLM
visog
Agree with the sentiment... love Stanley but he's done some 'grande fromages' in his time. Here's one from the Clarke/Duke project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb8n5DDTXoo RIP George Duke but this is a bit hokey. I really liked 'Wild Dog' from this album. There's always 'School Days's to fall back on...
