tommorichards Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 My acoustic bass is a bit sh*te, so i intend on replacing the bridge on it with one that i can adjust height and intonation. Now my thinking is that ill route some channels in a bit of wood, and stick some saddles in there. But my question is are there bass bridges out there for acoustic basses that act in the same way as a normal one? Quote
sblueplanet Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 You could try either cutting grooves in the existing saddle to lower string height or sanding it it down a bit. If you go too far just a shims to raise height back up. Quote
tommorichards Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 ive done that, but the intonation is out too. Quote
sblueplanet Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 You could perhaps replace the bridge with the type you get on a beatles bass which is moveable and height adjustable. Depends how attached you are to the bass. Could buy a better one 2nd hand. Quote
tommorichards Posted August 25, 2013 Author Posted August 25, 2013 not attached at all. I got it for £30. Hence im considering the make one approach Quote
