TKenrick
Lots of things to read here (excuse the self-serving nature of the link!), I haven't updated it in a while but more transcriptions should be posted soon: http://tomkenrick.wordpress.com/basstranscriptions/
pietruszka
Excellent thread! Thanks Tkenrick, I'll have a read through Graceland later on, wonderful album and the dots are even nice to look at. Dan

ambient
Yes, more please
It's hard to know where to start I'm in year 2 of my degree, we have to learn one of these per week, so I've 26 from last year and I've 13 from this year so far. I'll have a look through and see what I think you'll like.

All additions to the thread are always great.
No problem, I emailed Bagsie a few things last week. If anyone wants and tab free charts just pm me and I'll email them some. I don't wanna get in trouble with my uni by scanning their books and posting them up on the internet. timmo
Thanks for this. This is helpful. Most things I see are written with tabs, and I can`t read tabs.

visog
I've been having fun with this little app for IOS: Sight Reading Machine https://itunes.apple...d662692296?mt=8 Handy sight reading practice when I have a bass to hand or just on the train. It generates a tune and plays it; you can configure it to select a wide range of parameters such as tempo, key, note lengths, etc. Notably, it comes with presets for both 4 and 5 string bass.
+1 for this. Great little app. Loads of sight reading parameters to experiment with. Great that it plays it for you too. Just what I needed to generate endless reading fodder... JapanAxe
I sight read but i could do with improving so I have just downloaded Sight Reading Machine to our iPad - what a brilliant app!

ChunkyMunky
Might be a bit late to the party, but I hope these all help. http://freebasspart.pv24.pagesperso-orange.fr/Tower_Of_Power.htm Ignore the fact it just exclusively says Tower of Power, there are loads of soul pieces on here. Tonnes of Aretha on here! http://www.basslessons.be/links.php "Transcriptions" the rest is down to you. Hope it helps!
operative451
Just found this! I haven't tried sight-reading since my CSE music which i did badly at, as 80s norfolk just wasn't ready for ambient industrial played on casio keyboards... This is fab, i'd decided that learning to read music properly would be my 2014 project, thank you! L:D
Danj
Hey If all these additions were grouped into Beginner / Intermediate / Pro!!111omgH4x0r on the first page, I reckon this would be a potential STICKY of win. I have already had a go at a couple, and have bookmarked for every spare moment. D
Grangur
I'm amazed at the number of views for this thread. I've not added to much more since the beginning. I'll try to get some transcribed and loaded up. In the meantime here's one more for the collection: Minuet En Sol, by JS Bach Cheers Richard
Grangur
In the start section I've separated the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. It's hard to draw the line on this, but Beginner is what I play ok. Intermediate is what I'm trying to play. Advanced is what I'm working towards.... well, it's a start. Cheers Richard
