mystery speakers

hi folks, can anyone identify these speakers for me. They're from a 4x10 wem column. theres no manufacturers badges. ta much

WEM used Celestions and Goodmans in those.. Usually!

Being brutally honest, I'm not sure what they are, look like they belong in a '59 4x10 bassman..

Impossible to say, but the small AlNico magnets reveal them as generic musical instrument drivers, so I would not consider them for bass.

There's a strong possibilty they'd make for nice guitar drivers though!

Thanks Guys, they seem to be Rola Alnicos. I think I'll use them for side fills on our small PA.

At one point the company was called Rola Celestion. Those magnets were always pretty weak and lost what they had over time so they are more interesting as collectors items than as usable speakers. They are also liable to burning out because they date back to the time of paper formers and low temp adhesives, They always did burn out even when new. If they are working 40 year old speakers then they could be valuable to a collector.

I had a pair of very old, useless, Selmer cabs with Goodmans drivers in them, sold 'em on fleabay for £120 ..... Lord knows why he wanted 'em, but he was more than happy to take them off my hands. I've got a couple of small wedges with Celestion guitar drivers in them from the early 70's too somewhere, they'll be going on there at some point.
