Yamaha BBN 5 Tracking

Picked up a used Yamaha BBN5 (passive, J-pickups natural finish) last week. Very pleased with it but I'm trying to find out some more information about it.
Tried to look up the serial # but I understand that Yamaha repeat their serials once every ten years so I don't know if this one was made in 85' or 95'. The number is L 031293.
Can anyone shed any light on these models? Thanks!

the number 0 after the L may be the letter O. Can't tell!

My very first bass was a BB N4ii in Yellow Natural Satin (looked just like yours but with a string less) and it was brand new in the mid 90s, so my money would be on '95. Was a very nice bass; one of a few I regret parting with, sadly.
